Hello, my name is Katlin, I’m 23 years old. I know I’m a little short for the normal modeling height, I’m 5’2. I have struggled all my life with anerexia. Always worrying what other people thought about my body. I had a perfect image in my head of what I was suppose to look like in order to have people love my body and to b able to model. I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) when I was 18. I have the lean version of pcos. And struggled to put weight on. I finally have gotten to where I am a healthy weight for my age and height. And I just want to show those other ladies out there that suffer from pcos that they are beautiful no matter what other people think. That just because we have this disease does not mean we cannot be beautiful models too. And that having a little extra weight, or some acne here and there, or not enough weight on us, does not make us ugly. I have wanted to be a model since I was 12 years old. I have also over come a major struggle in life, I was sold as payment to a drug dealer for my mother to pay for her habits, I was raped and molested at just the age of 7 all the way till the age of 16. It took me a few years of struggling with depression, and self harm, before I realized that I couldn’t let that define me as a person or control me and my life. I fought to prove I was strong and better then what happened to me. And I want other girls who have been in that situation to have someone to look up to and see that if I can over come it and still feel beautiful so can they!

I’ve watched every. single. episode. of ANTM and I’ve always dreamed of being a model but I have always been worried that my stretch marks would affect my chances of modelling. But I’ve recently come to learn how to embrace them and I think they are beautiful and I also think that as soon as there are more models out there with skin imperfections, the world is going to be a better and happier place full of more self confident people! I have always watched “America’s Next Top Model” since I was a kid. I never thought I could become a model. I was afraid of my age for someone starting on ANTP, but hey the galaxy is the limit. My thoughts on modeling. Modeling is not just about taking pictures and posing. There is more to it. Modeling is about expressing yourself. Modeling is about showing others it is okay to have flaws. Modeling is about being a role model, a boss while inspiring others. Modeling is about having fun! I got into modeling not just for myself, but to teach others how to love themselves that is what makes a beautiful picture. Let them know that a woman’s best accessory is their confidence.
