It’s here everyone, it’s here! The announcement that we have all been waiting for has finally come and so has your all new chance to become one the premier models in the world. America’s Next Top Model Cycle 21 has been greenlit for production and Tyra Banks and her fabulous team of producers and talent scouts have already begun organizing open auditions in locations around the country and submissions from up and coming models are being accepted now. The time is now for aspiring talent to go for their shot at modeling fame and the coveted title of America’s Next Top Model.
The CW’s America’s Next Top Model has been a worldwide reality modeling sensation since it’s debut in May of 2003 and with each new season’s twists, turns and trials it shows no signs of slowing anytime soon. With each new incredible cycle Tyra and her group of fashion and modeling giants find, test and train the finest rising talent that the globe has to offer and help undiscovered models reach new heights in the fabulous world of high fashion modeling. Once again ANTM will be accepting both women AND men to be apart of this one of a kind reality television phenomenon and the excitement for cycle 21 has reached a fever pitch.

She has no clue that I have done this. American Top Model she watches daily even the first season shows. She models currently at fashion shows. I know she would love the opportunity to appear at a casting call. Her biggest fear is her height 5’3 and which she always say mom they never give us chances. I just want to say: After seeing the ANTM mixed cycle with men and women from all different backgrounds, slim and plus sized, I said there better be a damn good reason why it’s nearly impossible to accept short people. If anyone is a fan of the Sims, I know you’ve complained about why there is no height slider in the game. You may have even modified them with hacks to create height differences, but found that it throws off all animation mechanics. I believe it’s the same with high fashion in real life: the designers just do not make clothes suitable for shorter legs/torsos. It’s unfortunate that it’s 2014 and that’s still happening, but I realized that I can at least stop being disappointed in Tyra. Progression is practically her middle name. She tries to include everyone and relate to anyone. She just may not have the time, resources, or sadly the support to include shorties who would have trouble fitting designer attire and landing gigs, let alone establish another entire cycle dedicated to them- not when the fashion world still treats height “challenge” as a challenge.
So I’m not going to get my hopes up waiting for the eligibility requirements of cycle 21, or any cycle thereafter. If I (and anyone reading this who is short) was meant to be a model, the opportunity will find you, you won’t have to keep being let down. And if/when we make it big, we can arrange to meet Tyra ourselves, and express our love and support then.

Hey everyone! My name is Katie, and I’ve watched America’s Next Top Model since Season One. Like Tyra I believe young girls need positive, influential women to look up to and I believe I can be that positivity that girls need. When I was a girl I never thought about being ugly or pretty, I was just me. It didn’t occur to me until I was a teen that self image can either make you strong or hurt you very deeply. Girls in my class would call me fat, ugly, any name they could to hurt me. Eventually I began to believe them. I let them turn me against myself. I became depressed, and I would starve myself so that I would look like the pretty models in the magazines that I believed I was supposed to look like. It even got to a point where I would hurt myself because I thought I needed to be punished for being the way I was. I thought that if I could lose weight and get rid of my acne I would finally be happy. I was 110 lbs and 5″7, and I wasn’t happy. One day, I woke up. I was unhappy because I lived in this negative bubble I put around myself. No one can make you feel as terrible as your own self can make you feel. So I started by looking at myself everyday in the mirror and saying “I love you, you are loved, and you ARE beautiful.” Corny, I know, but it helped. I finally realized that image is only a false, fleeting thing. I had an amazing support group from my family and friends who loved me and if I was enough for them then why can’t I be enough for myself, and if I can be enough for myself then I don’t need anyone else’s approval. To know that even though you suffer from mental illness and don’t believe yourself to be the amazing person that you are, you can pull yourself out of it. You can pull yourself up and stand tall knowing that you overcame obstacles no one else even knew you were facing. Today I’m a healthy, happy125lb 21year old. I struggle sometimes, I still suffer with depression, it’s apart of my life and I can’t change it. I just don’t let it drag me down anymore, I’ll never let it drag me down that far again. So it is my wish to be a Top Model so I can help girls who were like me. So I can tell them that I’ve been there, I’ve been what you’re going through, and you CAN get through it. For me being a Top Model isn’t all about wearing designer clothes or meeting famous people, it’s about making it so that I can help those who need it.

From infancy to a young adult my mother was always asked if I had considered pageants or television but my family was never in a position to help make those whispers of dreams come true. I was born and lived in Wyoming as a rough and rugged tom boy until I was 11 when some very unfortunate circumstances placed my two older sisters and I in a group home for 6 months. Out shine the world baby!” For some strange reason even after we left there to come to Colorado this stuck, etched into my memory like a hot branding iron. And since that moment I told myself to out shine the world. Since then I’ve become a proud wife and mother of 3, yes 3, astonishing boys. I have always loved fashion and how such magnificent things can be so simplistic, yet show stopping. Or with a simple strut can turn any woman into the triumphant lioness lurking inside. I have been watching ANTM since season one – shy, and previously too afraid to audition. The difference now is that I recently came out to my family and friends. It’s been extremely draining on my confidence. It’s just me and my girlfriend now. But I’m done being sorry and feeling alone. Just like most of the girls in the world, I’ve had the desire to become a model at a very young age. Watching Americans Next Top Model at age 10 definitely motivated and inspired me when hearing about Tyra Banks’ story of how she got into modeling. I’ve always been very tall and lanky. I have fortunately been blessed with good genes. I wasn’t too thankful when I was younger; being bullied and called names like “Bean Pole”, “Twig”, etc. But now I am very grateful to be exactly the way I am! I am going to be 21 in August. Well, I think that punk rock was the first thing that really made me cuuoirs about worlds outside where I grew up and that political activism (which came after exposure to the punk scene) is what made me want to study and learn. Perhaps it’s a separate subject, but the fact you praise my writing and reason skills is really a sad reflection on our educational system. I do think that my writing skills are above average when compared against my peers (I’m talking every day work, not other writers) but compared to a generation ago, I feel mediocre at best.I feel very lucky to have parents who valued reading, been able to go to a public high school with an excellent journalism class, and attend a college where they taught writing as part of the freshman curriculum.

I am currently attending college and studying business as a major, but when I was a little girl I’ve always dreamt of becoming a model. I want to be on Americas next top model because growing up I’ve always been interested in doing something in the entertainment industry. But my parents, felt otherwise. My mother and father aren’t from America, they’re from Africa. They came to america 2 weeks before I was born. I also have 2 younger brothers, no children. I’m the oldest in my family. My parents want me to be that child that goes to school to become a doctor & set an example for my younger brothers to follow. I’ve tried to go to school for pharmacy but ended up having to drop out because I was not enjoying it. Instead I enjoyed “being on the scene”, hosting events, going to concerts, meeting people. It was doing that when I ran into Bari of ASAP mob & I also met Ian Connor. & they inspired me to pursue modeling. I’ve always been told that I’m a pretty girl & that I should do modeling, but I never really thought much of it until I met them. They really encouraged me & broke it down to me that that’s my perfect fit. They kept telling me I had so much potential to be “way more fly than I am now”. So since July of 2013, I’ve been trying to pursue modeling. I’ve done a couple photo shoots here & there, been to a few agencies, went out of town to network with other models, but it’s been a whole year now & I feel like I have made progression, but I could make so much more progression with guidance. & that’s where Americas next top model comes in. I don’t too much care to win the show, to me it’s more about the experience, networking, & the skills I can learn to better myself in this industry & if I do win, that’s just a plus & a great feeling.. & truly, I just want to be able to inspire others that if you really put your mind to something, anything is possible. & I want to prove to my parents, family & friends that I can still be somebody without school. My name is Gina. I was raised by artists, and homeschooled with my three brothers since first grade…. I grew up with very little, but I always knew I had beauty and talent as well as intellect. Ever since I was maybe nine years old friends of my parents and my extended family would say that “Gina could be a model when she grows up.” And I always did want to. When I was about 13 my mother landed a better private duty nursing job, working for a rich man in his 90’s and saved up some cash for me to go to a modeling school. But the modeling school ended up being more like a charm school and myself and a group of twelve other girls were instructed by a frigid older woman who’s attitude was very disappointing and uninspiring to a group of blossoming young girls. In turn I dropped the fascination more or less, and when my parents not long after, separated, I spent more of my time avoiding everyone and spending time with my boyfriend and making trouble to free myself from boredom than thinking about my future… Then after two years with the same boyfriend, at 16 I became pregnant. I resigned myself to my life as a mother and gave up on art and modeling, and eventually after many bad waitressing jobs, got a job in healthcare. And at every single nursing home I’ve worked for since, my nickname has always been: Americas next top model…. My response to being called such is almost always “Psssh!” And I turn a corner to die a little bit, knowing every year I put my dreams on hold I’ve fallen farther from the possibility of such a thing ever happening. So now here I am at 26 with a 9 year old daughter I love to death, thinking: Maybe it isn’t too late… Maybe I can still live out a couple dreams.
My anticipation for the announcement of the ANTM Cycle 22 casting is so difficult to contain! Although I am 5′ 6.25″ (the .25 does indeed count!) and relatively short for the modeling industry, I do believe that I have what it takes to be America’s Next Top Model!

Hi Tyra:) I’m from Riverside, CA. On June 4th I was with some friends at a bar and grill. What I saw was life changing for me. There was a possum that had gotten half run over by a car. He crawled all the way from the middle of the street to the end of the parking lot which was about 300 feet away. The whole back end of his body was completely mutilated, but guess what that didn’t stop him. He crawled to the end of the parking lot and when he got to the curb he tried to climb up and fell. That didn’t stop him even though he was going to die, and he knew this, but with the will and determination to get to the bush he was trying to get to, he succeeded. Remember he crawled 300 plus feet with a half run over body. I don’t know what happened to him after that, but there was a reason I saw that. I will be ANTM because I have the will and determination to succeed just like that possum.

I am a model. That’s exactly what I wake up and tell myself everyday. Waking up everyday and trying to live out exactly what I was created to do. To whom it may concern,
I have a passion for diversity and can bring my individuality to different settings. I learn an adapt easily. I am also excepting and always wanting criticism. I am willing to be a blank canvas to be transformed into an artwork. I am a cashier at Harris Teeter and am always told by my customer and others that I have beautiful features, that I look like and could be a model, or that I should try out for Americas Next Top Model. But being that I a studious and a college student I have decided to keep my heads in the books. However, after being more enlightened then before from my travels on a mission trip to Guatemala that I was selected to participate on, I have decided to pursue something that I would never have the guts to. I have decided to audition for America’s Next Top Model although I will be putting my education on hold, something I have strived to accomplish my whole life, to do something that can give me just as must happiness.

First and foremost I am an actress. I have just finished my AA in Theatre and Dance and am taking a break from school for the next year. I have been told that I should look into modeling and I have always been a fan of ANTM. So why not? I am 5’6″, 20yrs, and 120lbs. I have the drive to try new things and have fun while I do it.
